Spitting Pig

Repeat Business Is Always Welcome At Hog Roast Bury!

New clients are brilliant. There’s nothing quite like introducing someone to a proper hog roast for the very first time and watching their reaction when they take their very first bite. But repeat clients? That’s a different kind of feeling entirely.

Steven is one of those people. A loyal Hog Roast Bury regular who, at this point, knows exactly what he wants when a celebration rolls around – and wastes absolutely no time picking up the phone. So when his wife’s 60th birthday started creeping up on the calendar, Steven did what Steven does. He called us.

Hog Roast Bury was delighted, of course, and we couldn’t wait to pack up our van and set off for Bamburgh House to help make this milestone birthday truly special. Ahead of the occasion, we sourced a free-range pig from a local award-winning farm, which is always where it starts for us. We’re firm believers that quality ingredients are the key to quality flavours, and that ethos has never let us down.

After hours cooking low and slow, the hog was ready – and judging by the queue that formed before the carving had even properly begun, the guests were more than ready too. Plates were loaded up with pulled pork, stuffing, applesauce, mixed salad, gourmet coleslaw and soft rolls and wraps, with everyone building their own version of the perfect plate. That’s one of the quiet joys of a spread like this – nobody’s plate looks the same, and somehow they’re all exactly right.

Hog Roast Bury also made sure the veggie and vegan guests were well looked after too, with grilled veggie and halloumi kebabs and BBQ-pulled jackfruit sliders that proved just as popular as everything else on the table. No quiet corner of the buffet for those dishes – they were gone just as fast.

Oh, and two of the guests showed up in full pig costumes. We don’t know whose idea that was, but we absolutely loved it. That’s commitment to the theme, right there.

Steven’s wife had a wonderful 60th – the food was a hit, the guests were in great spirits and those pig costumes? Talk about a highlight of the night.

Thanks again for having us, Steven! Hog Roast Bury will be ready and waiting whenever the next occasion comes around.
