It was Father’s Day recently, which meant a busy weekend for the Hog Roast Kirkham gang! Our team barely had a moment’s rest as they whizzed from one booking to the next, making Lancashire dads feel special with our tasty meal plans.
The most memorable day for us was, of course, Fathering Sunday, which saw us roll up to a beautiful park, where hundreds of people gathered together to share a wonderful day and honour the dads in their lives. This community event was largely organised by James, who wanted to give locals a fantastic day and raise money for men’s health charity, which made being a part of this celebration all the more rewarding for Hog Roast Kirkham.
With catering manager, Sophie, at the helm, the Hog Roast Kirkham team made sure that the guests received a variety of mouth-watering dishes that everyone in attendance could enjoy. There were succulent chicken kebabs, BBQ marinated spareribs, gourmet sausages, BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls, veggie burgers and handmade British beef sliders with additional salads and mixed fries. For those with a sweet tooth, there was also a grazing table of sugary treats and a selection of homemade desserts, comprising summer fruit pudding and profiteroles. In addition to this, we prepared chilled refreshments, which went down a treat given the roasting hot weather.
Aside from Hog Roast Kirkham’s epic spread, the client had organised a live band to perform, along with a juggling act, and he had hired several carnival-style game stalls and an inflatable assault course, which the kids and adults both seemed to love!
All in all, this Father’s Day celebration was a huge success, with everyone in attendance having a wonderful time. The food was excellent, the company was enjoyable, and the client has since been in touch to let us know that he managed to surpass his donation target, which we’re so pleased about.
