Spitting Pig

Spitting Pig Lancashire Had A Blast Exhibiting At Clarets Connect!

There are work days, and then there are work days that remind you exactly why you do what you do. April 15th at Turf Moor was firmly the latter.

Burnley FC’s Clarets Connect – organised in partnership with OFX – shone a well-deserved spotlight on women making waves across sport and business. With a line-up of insightful panellists, attendees were treated to inspiring talks from Lola Ogunbote, Rebecca Aldred and Maeve McMahon – each sharing their unique experiences, challenges and successes in their respective fields.

Unlike some networking events, the atmosphere here wasn’t the stiff, slightly awkward energy you sometimes get. It was warm, buzzy and full of people who actually wanted to be there – and Spitting Pig Lancashire was proud to be part of it.

This one felt personal, if we’re being straight with you. Our own catering manager Sophie leads our team with exactly the kind of drive and talent that events like Clarets Connect exist to champion. Walking into a room built around celebrating women who are building something – and backing each other while they do it – felt less like a business engagement and more like finding our people. And Jen and the team made sure our stall did us justice.

From the moment the doors opened, Spitting Pig Lancashire had a steady flow of visitors – some curious about bookings, others drawn in by our generous discount offer, and more than a few who simply couldn’t walk past complimentary bacon rasher crisps without investigating further. Honestly, we respect that. Bacon has a way of starting conversations that no business card ever could.

But beyond the crisps and the bookings chat, what struck us most was how genuine every interaction felt. No polite smiles and swift exits – just real conversations with interesting people doing interesting work. We left with new connections, a satisfying stack of exchanged cards and a whole lot of inspiration.

Thank you to Burnley FC and OFX for having us along. And if you grabbed one of Spitting Pig Lancashire’s cards on the day – we’re already looking forward to hearing from you.
