This past Sunday, Hog Roast Aspden embarked on a thrilling adventure as we catered for an unmissable event – an agricultural machinery show that drew farmers, industry professionals, and families alike.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as attendees gathered to experience the latest in farming equipment, sample new products and services, and bask in the impressive display of machinery from the region’s top manufacturers and dealers.
The event, a one-day extravaganza, showcased over 100 exhibitors, creating a vibrant tapestry of all things farming, horticulture, ground care, and forestry. Families joined in to experience the agricultural atmosphere and witness firsthand the advancements that contribute to the efficiency and productivity of modern farming. Despite the chilly weather, the attendees were in high spirits, grateful for the dry conditions that prevailed throughout the day.
For this special occasion, Hog Roast Aspden proudly presented our Classic Hog Roast Menu, a gastronomic delight that is known for pleasing large crowds.
Prepared with meticulous attention to detail, the traditional hog roast was crafted using the finest-quality pork sourced from an local award-winning farm. The meat, which we scored and rubbed with salt, was slow-roasted over a bed of sage and onion stuffing. As the meat cooked, its succulent juices dripped into the stuffing, infusing it with a rich, smoky flavour.
As the meat sizzled and spat on the HogMaster, the skin crisped to a golden perfection, creating the coveted crackling. The result was a harmonious marriage of succulent, tender meat, crispy skin, and flavourful stuffing. Served on soft gluten-free rolls with homemade applesauce, our hog roast became an instant hit, satisfying the appetites of the hungry guests who couldn’t resist coming back for more.
