The UK is famous for its roasts. If there is one thing that we know how to do when it comes to cooking, its making brilliant comfort foods for those many long cold days and nights. We brought the world such brilliant additions to the roast such as the Yorkshire Pudding, helpings of delicious meaty gravy, and the time old tradition of the Sunday Roast – the truly best invention in all of culinary history.
But of course, though we all love a roast here in the UK, everyone still has their preferences when it comes to how they want their plate piled up on a Sunday. It’s a simple meal that can go so many ways, so we at Hog Roast Holden just want to know what goes into your preferred roast at home, or even at our events. What’s your pick of meat? How do your prefer your potatoes to be done? And do you drown the plate in gravy, or do prefer to match up the condiment with the meat of choice, meaning you might go for an apple sauce, or cranberry, or a nice mint for your lamb?
It’s obvious what our preferred roast is at Hog Roast Holden, of course. We just cannot look past the simple brilliance of the pork roast. It comes teeming with all that brilliant salty flavour, the meat is oh so tender, and with our method of hog roasting the skin gets that excellent crisp texturing that is just perfect in a roast. We like to pair our roast with our own homemade apple sauce, some homemade sage and onion stuffing for even more flavour, and of course fresh roasted veg too with a pick of a potato accompaniment. That is one area where we can’t always make up our mind, but you just can’t quite look past the simple perfection of a good golden roast potato, can you?
Do you agree with our selection? Or is a roast not a roast for you unless it has at least 2 Yorkshire puddings piled on the plate and drizzled with plenty gravy? Maybe you prefer beef roasts, or chicken? Hog Roast Holden provides those for events too, but our favourite is always going to be the pork roast! We’ll still allow you to make your preferred roast for your event, though.
